Mock Interviews

Maple Grove Senior High School

Each year the Maple Grove High School Career Resource Center and Senior English Teachers team up with the business community to offer a unit " Preparing for Life After High School. As a part of that unit, we bring in over 60 business people to interview our seniors in a mock job or college interview. All of our seniors are interviewed, followed by both a written and oral critique of their interview. By giving students this opportunity, they can brush up on their interview techniques without the pressure of job selection, or college decisions resting upon the outcome of the interview.

Over five hundred Maple Grove High School seniors are asked to participate in a mock interview as a part of a unit "Preparing For Life After High School". What we need from you as an active member of the business community is to commit to interviewing our students. In order to schedule students the most efficiently, we would ask if possible to plan on interviewing students for a two-hour segment of time or longer. You can select any of the days and the time that works best for you during the second week of January between 7:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Each senior will have a ten to fifteen minute time slot where they will be interviewed. We would ask each of you to follow the interview by giving a short oral evaluation, as well as completing a short written evaluation for each student. This has been a wonderful opportunity in the past for both the interviewer and interviewee.

If are interested in participating, please e-mail Kathy Nelsen at Nelsenk@district279.org  please include your complete contact info. You can also call her at 763-391-8761.
