Internship Opportunities
The North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce Business Education Partnership Committee strongly supports the establishment and continual offering of internships by member businesses. Internships are structured, real-life work experiences, either paid or unpaid, last for varying lengths of time depending upon a company’s and student’s needs. Internships help students improve their basic work skills, test career choices and witness classroom theories and principles being applied in real world situations.
In an effort to encourage internship opportunities, the committee has assembled an internship information document which can be accessed below. This one page document provides the basic information a business would need to start an internship program. The document provides some internet links to further internship material and provides contact names, numbers, and emails to career counselors at high schools and post secondary schools in the chamber area. The career counselors are ready to connect businesses with outstanding students who are looking for an opportunity to learn and an opportunity to contribute to a local business. Contact the North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce office at 763-424-6744 with any questions!
